Position SummaryThe Department of Tourism, Event, and Sport Management in the School of Health & Human Sciences at Indiana University invites applications for a 10-month appointment non-tenure track faculty position.
The responsibilities of the position will include teaching and providing leadership for the undergraduate major in hospitality, collaborating with industry to provide students with educational opportunities, and service to the university and profession.
Duties
• Teach 8 undergraduate courses per year in the hospitality major with an emphasis on food and beverage service and management.
• Utilize and provide oversight for the Teaching Kitchen, a 1,000 square foot teaching space equipped with six teaching bays (sink, oven, blender, microwave, KitchenAid mixer, and all the essentials needed for cooking and food preparation) and instructional station (cold and frozen food storage, commercial-grade dishwasher, and ice maker)
• Collaborate with industry partners and seek new opportunities for students.
• Participate in program development and growth initiatives
• Participate in internal and external recruiting exercises
• Advise student organizations
• Mentor hospitality management students
• Serve the department, school, and campus.

Basic Qualifications
A master's degree in hospitality or related field,
• 80% teaching
• 10% service
• 10% scholarship

Additional Qualifications
Preferred industry experience in one or more of the following:
• Record of teaching experience at the collegiate level
• Hospitality industry work experience
• Experience teaching on-line/or hybrid courses
• Experience working with major hotel chains, hotel management companies or corporate hotel parent companies
• Demonstrated experience in corporate/or operations lodging management
• Certification in Hospitality fields
